moonvine: Confidence That Doesn't Announce Itself

EDM

There exists a certain level of confidence that doesn’t make its presence known. It has a low and steady hum, like the sound of static beneath urban lights. This feeling is where the members of moonvine have drawn their inspiration from.

Having formed in Berlin, siblings Selina and Dennis do not have a manifesto but rather a feeling. They describe their first release, “cherry spice”, as living within the split second between doubt and decision-making—between catching your own reflection in a mirror and adjusting your posture and reassuring yourself that everything is all right. No overt display of emotion; just a presence.

Dennis has an extensive electronic background and approach to music-making but has stripped it down here to groovy rhythms but with solid grooves. The beats are created with concrete rhythms that have been executed perfectly but still sound fresh. Meanwhile, Selina has completely avoided doing anything impressive vocally and has instead chosen to sing in a conversational manner as if she were talking out loud by mistake. This angle makes the delivery far more impactful. There is definitely attitude in the restraint that exists between them and sweetness.

The tires are starting to turn with early TikTok growth, but moonvine is not blindly pursuing scale; they are creating connections and touchpoints through direct lines of communication and authentic dialogue. Slow-burn strategy with quick reflexes.

At this point, moonvine is in a moment of origin and while it may seem like a new beginning, it feels more like being in harmony with the rhythm of their current reality, and less about having something to prove, more about owning the situation—no second guessing, no distractions.

There is simply rhythm and instinct, and a quiet undeniable glow.
