Convo with L E A

Hailing from the vibrant heart of Los Angeles, California, recording artist L E A draws deep inspiration from the city’s unique rhythm—blending the serenity of crashing waves with the pulse of city nightlife. Her music captures both the introspective calm of coastal mornings and the electric energy of late-night drives through neon-lit streets.

L E A first caught the public’s attention when her college a cappella group went viral online, a moment that sparked her decision to pursue music on a deeper, more personal level. Since officially launching her solo career in 2018, she’s been steadily carving out her space in the pop landscape, cultivating a growing audience and gaining traction across streaming platforms.

Her latest single, Anyone, reflects her evolving sound—emotive, cinematic, and driven by a clear sense of purpose. With each release, she continues to connect with a global fanbase, leveraging social media not just as a promotional tool but as a genuine channel to share her story and creative journey.

We were especially moved by Anyone and the clarity of her artistic voice. L E A is undoubtedly an artist on the rise, combining commercial sensibility with authentic expression. We recently had the chance to sit down with her for an exclusive interview—read on to discover more about her influences, aspirations, and what’s next on her musical path.

1- Where did you come from and where are you based now, and why?

I grew up in a small beach town called Point Pleasant in New Jersey. After attending college, I found a major love for the city of Los Angeles in California. After living back and forth between North Carolina (for college), New Jersey (home for the holidays), and Los Angeles, CA (for music and work), I decided to move here [LA] permanently in 2018! It’s been quite the journey since.

2- Why did you move to Los Angeles?

I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music and entertainment. At first, I moved here to work behind the scenes, but as my music career kept growing, I really found a love and passion to be an artist full time. Now I help myself and other like-minded artists grow on social media as my side gig!

3- Who inspired you to compose your songs?

I’m constantly so inspired by whatever is on heavy rotation in my music library. Lately, I’ve been really into rock, which never stopped, it’s just on full blast right now haha.

4- What is the message behind “Anyone”?

It’s pretty straightforward, but “Anyone” sends a message stating “If I could have anyone…” after all the madness and former situationships “it’d still be you” I’d still revert back to the original. The first thing I knew.

5- How do you see the importance of Instagram in the music business right now?

Considering I work in social media, I find Instagram a very important marketing tool for musicians. And even more so, TikTok. Instagram is an awesome way to communicate with an artists’ fan base, especially if the artist isn’t on tour and they have a global audience.

6- What do you describe the music scene that you are in right now?

I’d say I’m a hybrid between pop and rock when it comes to the scene I’m involved in. I grew up listening to pop-punk and still attend many rock shows, but my music tends to lean more on pop than most in the rock or punk genre.

7- What are you completely over and done with?

I’m stoked to be working on new music, so I don’t think I’m over and done with anything anytime soon.

8- If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

Just keep pushing and manifesting everything you want! Working towards your goals makes life so fun and interesting, you shouldn’t give up.

9- What is your favorite TV show?

I barely watch TV, I’m more of a YouTube x TikTok kind of gal.

10- What’s the biggest lesson life has taught you?

That nothing will ever get handed to you. Life has taught me to be genuine, real, and authentically you for the best experience.

11- How would the world change if superheroes and supervillains actually existed?

I guess it would be a bit more exciting and thrilling, though I already believe real-life heroes and villains are walking this earth.

12 – What is next for L E A?

New project to come this summer, stay tuned, I’m really proud of this one!
