Seeping In: Black Seraphim's Watch Me Bleed Marks Their Unquiet Arrival

In “Watch Me Bleed,” a moment occurs where all sound is frozen—keys vibrate with energy behind guitars rat-tat-tatting as they scrape across a concrete floor, instruments reverberating and producing a dully ringing sound akin to pounding one's hand on a wet bar through one’s knuckles. This moment is significant within the context of Black Seraphim at this point in time—it is a breath before impact and shows what Black Seraphim has developed into at this moment in their existence.

Formed in late 2023 and living in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Little Rock, Black Seraphim’s story is nothing short of a contemporary legend: guitarist, bassist, drummer, vocalist (or perhaps clarinetist) arrive as a group of strangers at a rock camp wherein they meet one another for the first time and form an extraordinary collaborative. They were then thrown on the Sunset Strip to survive but instead of simply surviving, they combusted; some of the most notable rock musicians in history took notice of their burgeoning career; doors opened; the smoke settled.

“Watch Me Bleed” (released December 31, 2025) is the sound Black Seraphim created to represent this newfound cohesion. With lyricist/maxlove personifying this new amalgamation, one can hear how much more cohesive this track is compared to their previous tracks where they are usually heavily reliant on guitars. Now that they are drawing from the essence of Dream Theater’s work, they are not simply copying their songs, but instead, finding inspiration; the tracks produced thus far are meant to evoke ambition, emotion, and/or a willingness to take chances.

From beginning to end, Olivia Rosetti’s voice shifts from one extreme to another; there is a playfulness to the trade-offs between guitarists, Jack Stubenrauch and Dex Tansey, as well as the drums that completely solidify the band as not only a collection of unique musicians, but more importantly, a family of musicians.

Having been created in bedrooms and home studios remotely and then joined together in Southern California this song has the feel of being far away from each other overcoming that distance. It may bleed out, but it can show that it can do something. No longer should we think this is a ‘maybe’—now it is here!
