Ash and Bass: One of Vas' Invitation to the In-Between

EDM

As the deep bass settles into your chest halfway through "Low Key" everything fades away into thin air with the exception of your breath and intention. The beer foam is held back by the rim of the night; the static buzz is between the street lights. The concrete is sweating; the ash is floating away. It is at this moment that One of Vas wants you to be in a position to observe everything—not standing directly at the center of the room or hiding from view, but rather at the mid-point—at a distance.

The first release of MIGMA—the debut album to be released in 2026—will be "Low Key", and it is the "First Chapter" of a quiet hero's odyssey. There are no over-the-top actions taken, nor do I propose a form of viral drop; rather, One of Vas (born Vasilis Tsavdaridis) acts with controlled restraint and observes the low-key elements of the city from above with a drone; The deep bass lines propel the emotional weight of the music. The influence from Berlin's electronic world is evident throughout the album, however they are transformed with the sweat and dust of Athens, combined with Vas's personal past and the lessons learned from being silent.

Vasilis’ story isn’t done, continuing to go back to the year of 2009 in Italy, when he collaborated with the group Dropeners for many years, to collaborating and relocating and finding his bearings before changing to “One of Vas” in the year of 2019. Therefore, his change was not just surface level; his sound has slashed down to being laser-focused as opposed to having too much noise; it has an abundance of signals.

Just like the audio of the track "LOW KEY,” where we can see that it is looking down on us as if it is listening and gathering data from above; the sounds of the track breathe. The vocals can be heard as ghostly memories of a person instead of statements, as the track does not take away from your attention but instead builds and earns trust from you; the use of marketing is to connect people before converting them, and to create an ambience prior to being turned into anthems.

In an industry that is addicted to extremes, One of Vas shows us that we live in between the extremes of beer, concrete and ash, with all the feelings contained within. LOW KEY is not an introduction, but an invitation.
