Millo doesn't know you either
There exists an incarnation of you existing in the phones of others, constructed from a variety of components, distorted and transformed. The musician Millo has produced a musical composition depicting this experience.
"Anonymous," which has been released since June 5, doesn't ask for your approval to make you feel uneasy. It starts off sounding like falling in love and it finishes like a caution sign. The artist from Bergen created it after witnessing how fans express their feelings towards actors or musicians.
This is obvious since she received a number of threats directed against her after performing a certain show with another musician. But it wasn't her fault. The threats emerged from what someone else thought about her.
"I saw how much love was poured out. I also saw how much anger it could create. Most of it wasn't facts, just stuff people made up in their minds."
So that's the song underlying "Anonymous." Not exactly a case of broken heart. It's a case of recognition. The music manages to walk the thin line between adoring someone and stalking them, between being self-assured and being ruined, and in the whole process remains humorous. Millo's singing carries the weight of the song. It's dark, slow and just a bit cold for what it has to say.
In terms of sounds, it is restless. Pop music with sharp hooks has been processed in a way that it stands out from the other songs in the genre. It has been created at the Fjord Eurovision camp in collaboration with X Ari, Theresa Elise, and Are Sorknes, but was completed in her studio in Bergen. Millo is probably one of the few girls in Norway producing, mixing, and controlling the songs on their own.
You should treat "Anonymous" as the first of several hits to come in the future as Millo is preparing to release her first EP, "Method of Madness." There will be a management showcase on September 4th, after which new songs will be released. But before this happens you should get acquainted with "Anonymous."
