The Guy Who Said Never Again

POP

There is one specific kind of music that gets inspiration from a promise made to oneself. For Stephen Cumberbatch, a veteran from White Plains who has been in the dance music industry even before most DJs were born, it was the song “Next Time (I Won’t Be Falling).” But we all know that life has its own way of doing things and did it this time as well.

For this reason, the remix was created, and it was given a new name “Next Time (I Won’t Be Falling/You’ve Got Me Falling).” The remix combines resolve and soulful tunes played according to a beat that is impossible to remain static. You will hear both hesitation and acceptance in its verses.

Cumberbatch is not trying to be trendy. His involvement with the music industry harkens back to Sinnamon's I Need You Now, widely considered to be one of the most sampled recordings at dance clubs, and NV's Let Me Do You, which made its mark at Paradise Garage. This heritage is manifested in way the song sounds, having been crafted for summer hits and club nights, though it does not feel empty.

It arrived on July 10, complete with video, and a week later it is still fulfilling its purpose. Apparently, falling is not always a failure; sometimes it just means you are still alive.
